The dust cover is made of polyester fiber, which utilizes its excellent dust resistance, easy cleaning, stable physical properties, and cost adaptability to meet the core requirements of "blocking dust, long-term use, and adapting to various scenarios". The specific reasons are as follows:
1、 Core Performance Advantage: Meets the key functional requirements of the dust cover
1. Excellent dust-proof barrier properties, with core functions meeting standards
Polyester fiber (polyester) has a tight fiber structure and a smooth surface, which is not prone to gaps or shedding of fluff:
It can effectively prevent external dust, fluff, particles and other impurities from entering the cover, protecting the surface of furniture and appliances (such as treadmills, pianos, air conditioning outdoor units) from accumulating dust;
The fiber itself does not absorb moisture and is less prone to static electricity (compared to cotton fiber, the probability of static electricity adsorbing dust is reduced by more than 60%), which can reduce the adhesion of dust to the surface of the dust cover due to static electricity and maintain a clean appearance for a long time.
2. Easy to clean+washable, reducing maintenance costs
Polyester fiber has strong chemical stability, acid and alkali resistance, and good wrinkle resistance, making it suitable for daily cleaning scenarios:
After being contaminated with dust, simply gently pat or use a vacuum cleaner to remove it; If water washing is required, it can be directly machine washed (water temperature ≤ 60 ℃). After washing, it is not easy to deform or shrink (shrinkage rate ≤ 1%, much lower than the 5% -8% of cotton fibers), and the drying speed is fast (about 30% faster than cotton fabrics);
After repeated washing, the fiber structure remains stable and the dustproof performance is not easily degraded. The service life can reach 3-5 years (cotton dust covers are usually only 1-2 years due to wear and deformation).
3. Stable physical performance and adaptability to diverse usage environments
Polyester fiber has high strength and good wear resistance, which can cope with the daily wear and tear of dust covers:
The tensile strength is 2-3 times that of cotton fiber, and it is not easily damaged by daily pulling and friction (such as when covering/removing dust covers), especially suitable for scenarios that require frequent disassembly (such as household appliance dust covers);
Strong weather resistance, when used outdoors (such as air conditioning outdoor units and dust covers for courtyard furniture), it can resist ultraviolet radiation (not easy to fade or become brittle), humid environments (not moldy), adapt to a temperature range of -30 ℃~70 ℃, and its performance is far superior to moldy cotton fibers and aging nylon fibers.
4. Good formability+moderate cost, balancing practicality and economy
Polyester fibers can be spun into fabrics of different densities and thicknesses (such as lightweight chiffon and thick Oxford fabric), which can be flexibly adjusted according to dust prevention needs (such as high-density fabrics for instruments and wear-resistant fabrics for large furniture), and are easy to dye and print, matching different home styles;
Compared to real silk and wool fabrics, polyester fiber has a lower cost (with a unit price only 1/5-1/10 of real silk), and its performance is superior to cheap polypropylene and viscose fibers. It has a higher cost-effectiveness and is suitable for large-scale production and daily consumption scenarios.
